Making a Home in Downtown Buffalo

In Buffalo's darker days, downtown was seen as a rather desolate and dangerous place - certainly not a great option for someone looking for a nice place to live. In recent years, however, we've seen flophouses, warehouses, and abandoned buildings turned into loft apartments, luxury hotels, and beautiful condominiums. About 3,000 people currently live downtown (mostly in a rental market - although we will begin to see more opportunities to buy in coming years), and the number will only continue to grow. I sat down with Mike Schmand of Buffalo Place to talk about what it's like to live in downtown Buffalo.
